JUA submits memorandum to NFR GM demanding facilities to Journalists

Guwahati, Feb 6: The Journalists Union of Assam (JUA) today submitted a memorandum to the General Manager, Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR), Anshul Gupta, with various demands on behalf of the journalist fraternity.

Receiving the memorandum from JUA working president Samim Sultana Ahmed and Treasurer Sushmita Goswami, Gupta assured of fulfilling the demands at the earliest.

He said the demands raised by JUA are legitimate and will be assessed swiftly. He asked his officials to do the needful immediately.

Ahmed and Goswami thanked Gupta for his patient hearing and prompt commitment to fulfill the demands.

Among the demands in the four-point memorandum is providing facilities for application and collection of railway concession cards meant for accredited journalists at all important railway stations across North East.

It was further urged to exempt car parking fees for journalists at all railway stations and to open a computerised railway ticket booking counter at the Gauhati Press Club premises.
